This Site All Started With a Pool

I'm Jake Johnson and installing a pool in my home was not easy. First, I had to make the decision. I live alone since my wife died a few years ago, and it seemed rather frivolous to spend money on a pool. I'm not old, but age was a bit of a factor. It seemed almost irresponsible and childish to want a pool at my age. After I committed, I had to find the right contractor. With so many variables (price, time, personality, etc.), it was a lot harder than I thought. Next, I had to work with the contractor to find the proper space and size and look. After months of construction, I had my pool, but then I had to learn a lot about the proper care and upkeep. Overall, though, my little foray into construction (even if I didn't do any of the really hard work) was informative and worthwhile!

Why You Need A Toilet Lid Lock

There are many reasons why you might need to have a toilet lid lock in the bathrooms of your home. Without a toilet lid lock, your toilet can become a trap for any and everything small enough to fit into it. Here are just a few reasons why you should get a toilet lock lid for your toilets.

Gadget Safety

Having a device available that keeps the toilet lid down when it isn't in use can help keep your valuable gadgets (such as your tablet or smartphone) from going for a swim. Replacing expensive electronic items takes time and extra money that many people just don't have. The few dollars that you spend on getting a toilet lid lock is nothing compared to the hundreds of dollars that you'll have to shell out if you're unfortunate enough to have to repair or completely replace an item such as a smartphone.

Pet Safety

Smaller animals may be susceptible to falling into the toilet. If one of your smaller pets falls into an open toilet, they could have trouble getting out--especially if the lid falls on top of them--and they could drown, in the worst-case scenario. If they don't drown, they could injure themselves on the porcelain trying to get out of the bowl. If they do get out of the bowl, they'll definitely be leaving a trail of toilet water behind them all throughout your home. A pet falling or jumping into a toilet bowl could be anything from a minor inconvenience to a family tragedy. If you love your pet, consider getting a toilet lid lock to help keep them alive and well.

Child Safety

This is a more common reason to get a toilet lid lock, but it can't be emphasized enough. Children can fall into toilets and drown in seconds. Their lower-levels of  muscle coordination and balance, along with the fact that many children have heads that are larger than the rest of their bodies, means that they can easily tip over into a toilet but have a hard time lifting themselves out of the toilet. And if a heavy toilet seat falls on top of them while they're struggling to get free, this only hurts their chances of making it out of the bathroom alive.

You have many things in your home that you hold dear. Whether they're living or inanimate, protect these lives and items from disaster by getting a toilet lid lock for your household bathrooms today. Click here for more plumbing information.
